"Fractional Ownership Means Luxury for Less"
by Michael J. Martinez. March 21, 2006
"Not everyone can afford second homes, but as the baby boomer set nears retirement ... fractional ownership clubs like Exclusive Resorts gives them a shot at luxury living at merely well-to-do prices."
Martinez describes the worldwide vacation jaunts enjoyed by participants in a 2,000-member fractional ownership club who join and pay fees to relax for 15 to 45 days annually in any luxuriously-appointed home belonging to the club. The million dollar properties are nestled in highly sought-after locations across the globe. The author goes on to describe joint ownership of luxury cars and exclusive golf clubs that are available to New Yorkers who have above-average incomes but aren't in the super-rich set. They experience the rush of Ferrari driving and perfecting their swings on manicured greens at a fraction of the cost of full ownership or membership.
